Hallo!
Habe gerade Bilder von Playa del Carmen gesehen. Ich glaub für die nächsten 2 Wochen ist nix mit Ausflügen oder unbeschwerten Tagen am Strand. Habe gelesen alle Ausflüge sind gesrtichen für die nächsten Woche, wie sollte man sich auch fortbewegen, wenn die Straßen weggespült sind. ich habe gerade mit thomas cook telefoniert, der hat alle flüge bis 24.7. storniert und dominikanische rep., mauritius u.s.w. als ausweichmöglichkeiten angeboten. sieht also wohl doch nicht so dolle aus

Na so gut siehts wohl doch nicht aus.

Zwar mit Fragezeichen dahinter,aber trotzdem ,die Schäden bei den anderen sehen ja auch nicht gerade "gut" aus.... -
Es scheint wieder der ganze Strand weg zu sein. Betroffen auch diesmal die Iberostars!
Ich drück Euch alle die Daumen, daß Ihr doch noch..wo auch immer einen wunderschönen Urlaub haben werdet.
Bitte guckt auch mal bei den RIUs vorbei, wie die jetzt aussehen.

Also die VIVA Hotels Maya und Azteca bleiben bis 30.8 geschlossen.
Die Flüge wurden heute wie schon geschrieben alle bis zum 24.7. storniert. Was danach ist wird man sehen.
Morgen werde ich eine Alternative angeboten bekommen...
Das ganze ist richtig scheiße, dass ganze Urlaubsfeeling ist weg worauf ich mit Wochenlang so gefreut habe. -

habe gerade mit dem Reisebüro telefoniert. Meiers Weltreisen hat alle Hotels in der Region angeschrieben und um Mitteilung gebeten, wieviel Emily beschädigt hat und wann in etwa die Hotels wieder beziehbar sind. Mehr dann in den nächsten Tagen.

Laut ITS /LTU findet unser Flug am Freitag 22.7. ganz normal statt und auch die Rundreisen werden durchgeführt - evt. mit leicht abgeänderter Route.
Nur über unser Hotel - das El Mandarin weiß auch der Veranstalter ITS noch nix... das ist doch zum Mäusemelken... Aber ich denke, wenn die Rundreisen stattfinden, kann es doch nicht ganz so schlimm sein - und da nun sicherlich viele ihren Urlaub umbuchen/stornieren, dürfte es doch kein Problem sein, auf ein anderes noch weitgehend intaktes Hotel umzubuchen...?
Also ich drücke allen die Daumen die sich wie wir trotzdem sehr auf Mexiko freuen - wir buchen in jedem Falle nicht um - gerade dort werden die Touristen und die Devisen jetzt gebraucht...

Wir wären am 26.07. geflogen, haben jetzt aber storniert, über unseren Veranstalter hätten wir nichts bekommen können, was uns gefallen hätte, jetzt haben wir über eine total liebe Frau am Flughafen eine Asienreise gebucht die uns schon länger in der Nase lag. So ist muß man sich aber auch erst mal auf den Unterschied einstellen, in Gedanken war man ja eigenlich schon in Mexico

Wie gesagt fliegt die Condor bis zum 24.7. erstmal gar nicht - danach wird man sehen.
Die Hotels scheinen doch recht viel abbekommen zu haben, der Strand soll weg sein u.s.w.
Ich bin grad echt traurig, ich hatte mich so auf den Mexico Urlaub gefreut. Naja, mal sehen was der Reiseveranstalter mir morgen für Alternativen vorschlägt. Ich würde sehr gerne wieder nach Mexico fliegen - hab also keine große Lust, in ein anderes Land umzubuchen da ich es dort einfach traumhaft finde. -
Ich werde in den nächsten Tagen auch mal ins Reisebüro gehen und nachfragen.
Gebucht hatte ich bei Tjaereborg .Ich hatte das Hotel Riviera Maya Beach gerade wegen dem schönen Strand und den schönen Palmen gebucht,das kannte ich ja noch aus 2002.Wenn da jetzt viel zerstört ist,wird das in den kommenden 6 wochen auch nicht nachwachsen.Schade drum,hatte mich auch gefreut auf Mexiko.Mal sehen was die sagen.Bin mal gespannt ,ob man kostenlos umbuchen kann.Aber wenn man die "neue" Reise dann beim selben Veranstalter bucht,müßte das doch machbar sein? -

wie Tjaereborg das handhabt, weiß ich nicht aber ich würde auf einer Umbuchung oder auch kostenlosen Stornierung bestehen.. ITS bietet das jetzt für alle Abflüge bis zum 24. kostenlos an. Findet man bei ITS nichts passendes, kann man kostenlos stornieren und sich "anderweitig" umsehen... Falls Tjaereborg dies verweigert, würd eich stur bleiben und mit dem Rechtsanwalt drohen...kundenfreundlich wäre ein solches Verhalten nicht.

Normal müßte es machbar sein,immerhin steht bei den Reisebedingungen im Katalog:
..wird die Reise infolge höherer Gewalt( z.B. Krieg.....NATURKATASTROPHEN....) erheblich beschwert ,gefährdet oderbbeeinträchtigt,so können sowohl der Reiseteilnehmer als auch Tjaereborg den Vertrag kündigen. -
ich bin mal gespannt, ob wir morgen 'nen brief bekommen, in dem uns vorschläge zur umbuchung gemacht werden...
ganz ehrlich, ich habe mich total auf mexiko gefreut, kann mir aber nun besseres vorstellen, als am strand zwischen Trümmern (insofern es den strand überhaupt noch gibt) und anderen beschädigten hotels zu liegen... außerdem wird es in playa del carmen nun auch eher erschreckend aussehen. hoffe, dass man die reise ganz stornieren kann, denn auf irgendeine notlösung habe ich auch keine Lust...

Guten Morgen an alle... Ich habe Neuigkeiten im Playa-Forum gefunden - hier ist jetzt wohl der Zustand der meisten Hotels aufgeführt (wir haben wohl Glück gehabt und ich drücke euch die Daumen:

Fortunately the hotel does not have any major damages to it's physical
installations. Electricity, water, air conditioning and telephone
services are working perfectly well so we are able to offer all of the
basic services at the hotel. We are happy to say that our beach looks
great and the guests are already there enjoying it.Our staff is helping everywhere in the hotel so that everything is
being
cleaned as quickly as possible (fallen debris and vegetation moved by
the strong winds) and in a few days we'll be back to normal. Our
palapa
roof at the lobby bar has to be repaired which will take 3 weeks but
other than that everything will be fine for your arrival.If you need any other information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Report: All the hotels on that area are working normally, no damages in most of them except in thatched roofs but they will get fixed in a couple of days. They have electricity, water and all the services, some of them are haveing problem with the telephone lines but this will be fixed at any moment. We recommend that if you have reservation for those hotels or Puerto Morelos hotels don't cancel your reservations.
Punta Maroma. The hotels on this area are: El Dorado Royale, Mayan palace, Carrousel Villas Paraiso, Iberostar Playa Paraiso, Maroma Resort & Spa and Venta Club Playa Maroma. Those hotels are working normally and the damages are minor those ones can be repaired in a couple of days. If you have reserved on those hotels don't be afraid to keep your reservation.
Playa del Carmen. This area hosts the following hotels: Bravo Club El Mandarin, Secrets Capri, Maya Koba, El caracol Village, Capitan Laffite, Kaillum Resort, Qualton Club Riviera Maya, Ikal del Mar, Las Palapas. Shangri La and downtown hotels. Those hotels are operating normally too , minor damages to facilities, some of them had thatched roofs as decoration only but nothing that can not be repaired in 2 or 3 days. Electricity is back, they have water and all the services, beaches were beautiful today. I walked along the 5th avenue today and drove on the city and everything seems nice except for some trees and branches but the government and hoteliers are cleaning the streets. If you are going to stay on any of those hotels please do it.
PlayaCar. This is the hotel zone of Playa del Carmen and residential area, it has a golf course and hosts some of the most beautiful hotels in the area. I entered the area and there was a lot of trees and branches spreaded on the paved roads but also an army of workers cleaning the area. I stopped hotel by hotel and asked the manager on duty or the front desk manager about the situation of ther hotels and this is the report:
Riu Hotels.- All the hotels of this chain are operating normally, their facilities don't present any visible damage and there were tourists in the lobby, restaurants and beaches so everything looked like a normal day.
Gala Resorts.- This hotel is closed due to damages on some parts of the hotels, I saw people working on the area, I asked about re-opening date and they said they don't have that information at that time.
Royal Hideaway.- Closed, full of workers, didn't want to allow the access and don't have a re-opening date actually.
Wyndham Viva Azteca.- Closed, full of workers, didn't want to allow the access and don't have a re-opening date actually.
Reef Playacar. Closed, full of workers, didn't want to allow the access and don't have a re-opening date actually.
The golf course looks like fine, some trees and branches on the grass but nothing can not be solved in a short period of time.
Private houses and villas on the area look okay, the access roads are in very good conditions.
On each hotel we left a letter asking the hotel managers to send us a full report about the status of their hotels in order we can publish that information on this page. Personally I think the hotels closed at this time will be ready to operate in one or two weeks because no visible damages are shown except on the roofs and some palapas on the beach. Before you cancel your vacation for those hotels we strongly suggest you to contact your travel agency or wait for the response of the hoteliers to our letter, we will publish here the report for each hotel. Important: Some hotels in Playa del Carmen and Playacar are working but they still are having problems with the telephone service so if you want to contact them be patient that it fill be fixed in a short period of time.
After Playacar I took the south road to Tulum, after 10 minutes drive I really saw the damage that the hurricane caused on this area. Thousands of fallen trees, electricity poles cutted in half like plastiline, electric lines on the ground, a microwave tower twisted like a small copper wire, myriad of workers of the electric company fixing the poles, lot of activity but about the hotels....
Xcaret Park and Flamingo Xcaret.- The park and the hotel are closed, no access is allowed but we will speak with the head office to grab the information of status and re-opening date.
Puerto Aventuras.- This is painful for me to report this but Puerto Aventuras is devastated, no electricity, no water, no services at all. I recall this exclusive place for its golf course, nice roads, ever green jungle, exclusive hotels, all this has gone, this morning it looked like a junk yard , trees spreaded everywhere, trees under cars, debris everywhere. I personally think Puerto Aventuras will not recover itself for several months. I advise you to cancel your trip to Puerto Aventuras or change it to Cancun or Playa del Carmen instead. The hotels I visited were The Omni, Punta Serena, Sunscape Puerto Aventuras and the Oasis.
On this area another hotels are located, those ones are Aventura Spa Palace andXpu-Ha Palace, those hotels are closed too for major damages and they don't have a date to re-open at this moment. If you had plans for vacation on those hotels I suggest you to contact them to their headquartes to inquiry further information. Email them al info@palaceresorts.com
Continued my trip to the south most of the hotels are damaged and no estimated re-opening date was available at that moment but all of them presented serious damages on roofs and facilities, I think it will takes weeks even a couple months to get the damages fixed, the landscaping and gardening is a real disaster, it will not be a nice view for the tourists to see a dry jungle and garbage everywhere, please give those hotels some time to recover. No electricity, water, telephone at this time. We will keep track the status of each hotel over the course of the next days and publish the hotel comments in a special section of the weather main page of cancun.bz

Ich werde euch nun eine kleine Zusammenfassung meines gestrigen Tages geben und dann beschreiben, wie der heutige Tag anfing:
Gestern bekamen wir einen Anruf vom Reisebüro: "Wir haben nur gute Nachrichten für sie. Sowohl vom Hotel als auch vom Reiseveranstalter haben wir ein Fax erhalten, in dem steht, dass alles in Ordnung und keine Schäden am Hotel vorhanden sind."
Da war die Freude natürlich groß!
Daraufhin gehe ich ins Internet und finde eine Liste mit allen Hotelnamen und deren Beschädigungen.
Dann haben wir beim Reisebüro angerufen und das Reisebüro beim Veranstalter. Bei diesem Gespräch hat der Veranstalter gesagt, dass sie nun ein Krisenmeeting organisieren (die sind aber ganz früh dran...). Zuvor habe ich nämlich schon gelesen, dass Thomas Cook alle Flüge bis 24.07. storniert hat.
Der Tag war dann so richtig im Eimer und wir haben uns schon auf eine Umbuchung eingestellt und gehofft, stornieren zu können...Heute morgen bekomen wir einen Brief von Neckermann, in dem steht, dass sie uns eine gute Reise wünschen. Anbei unser Hotelvoucher und unsere Kofferanhänger... Was sie bis jetzt nicht geschafft haben (unsere Flugtickets wurden in Düsseldorf hinterlegt und wir haben nichts davon erfahren), schicken sie uns nachdem die ganzen Schäden zu vernehmen sind...
Gleich geht's zum Reisebüro und dann muss eine Lösung gefunden werden. Ich fahre doch in kein Hotel, dass (einigen Berichten nach) keinen Strand mehr besitzt und neben Hotels steht, die Baustellen gleichen... Davon ab, weiß man ja nicht inwiefern unser Hotel selbst einer Baustelle gleicht... Oder wir müssen unngekündigt das Hotel wechseln (und dann wahrscheinlich in ein Hotel, dass uns nicht zusagt)...
Wie man merkt, ich bin ziemlich sauer, werde euch aber nachher informieren, was das ganze ergeben hat...In diesem Sinne

Due to the impact of Hurricane Emily and after having evaluated the damages caused to our hotels; this is the latest update on our properties:
Tucan/Quetzal:
· A lot of Sand and debris in the pools and common areas. (It will take 5 to 7 days to have it ready)
· The roof at the Theater is partially damage (It will probably take a couple of months to have it ready)
· Two of the specialty Restaurants are closed (Italian & Mexican) ( It will take a couple of months )
Paraiso Complex:
· Debris in all the pools lobbies and grounds in general. (1 to 2 days to cleaned)
· The roof of the 2 main restaurants at Paraiso Lindo (Italian & the Oriental) and the Beach/Pool Palapa at Paraiso Maya are damage ( 1 ? 2 months to be fixed)
· Limited access to the beach due to a lot of mangrove and trees covering the access (It will take a 3 to 5 days to have it ready)
Cozumel :
· Will be closed until October 31 st , 2005

Ach du lieber himmel, ich habe gerade in einem anderen Forum gelesen, dass Emily wieder an Stärke gewinnt und sich gedreht hat und wieder nach Mexico unterwegs ist. Hier ist es reinkopiert:
La Pesca/Mexiko (rpo). Der Hurrikan "Emily" hat wieder an Stärke gewonnen und sich mit Sturm und Regen zum zweiten Mal an der mexikanischen Küste angekündigt. Tausende Menschen im Nordosten von Mexiko und im Süden von Texas, die in tief liegenden Gebieten leben, suchten höher gelegene Orte auf.
Auch Urlauber auf Campingplätzen brachten sich vor den heraufziehenden Unwetter in Sicherheit. Schulen in Texas wurden in Schutzräume umgewandelt. Es wurde erwartet, dass der Wirbelsturm am Mittwoch auf das Festland trifft.
Auf der mexikanischen Halbinsel Yucatán hatte "Emily" Millionenschäden angerichtet und in einigen Urlaubsorten Überschwemmungen verursacht. Hunderte Menschen wurden obdachlos, Opfer gab es aber offenbar keine. Tausende Touristen waren vorab in Notunterkünften in Schulen und Turnhallen in Sicherheit gebracht worden. Der mexikanische Präsident Vicente Fox machte sich am Montag persönlich ein Bild von den Sturmschäden. -
das habe ich ja vorher auch schon gelesen.
was nun passiert ist mir allerdings egal. wir haben storniert und fliegen nun mit einem anderen veranstalter nach kuba. leider erst 12 tage später, aber hauptsache es geht überhaupt noch in den urlaub.
mexiko steht dann in den osterferien an (keine hurrikanzeit und alles ist wieder in ordnung! freu)
