Das Hotel allgemein
Perched on the slopes of its own 4 acre wooded valley, Quinta do Bom Vento is a tranquil rural retreat offering bespoke self-catering accommodation for guests seeking an escape from the daily hustle and bustle. In less than an hour from Lisbon Airport you can be relaxing on your private terrace, glass of excellent Portuguese wine in hand, gazing at the panoramic vista surrounded by nothing more hectic than birds, butterflies, and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. We offer a choice of five stylish quintanas all finished to very high standard with individuality and flair whilst remaining true to their Portuguese origins. The décor and furnishings reflect that they have been treated not as rentals, but rather as homes. Knowing how frustrating it can be renting rural properties and arriving to an empty fridge and cupboards, we provide an extensive welcome pack including milk, butter, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, wine and beer along with essentials such as washing up liquid, paper towels, oils and vinegars. etc. Recognising the ever restrictive luggage allowances on flights we also provide toiletries and beach towels. The Atlantic. The original house has been fully renovated with double glazing throughout complementing the 2 foot thick stone walls and giving a stable constant temperature. A full complement of pots, pans and utensils allows you to prepare that Tuscan chicken dish that you do at home (you are welcome to pick fresh Rosemary from the garden). Also off of the lounge area is a bathroom with custom open stall shower, vanity sink unit and WC. Double doors lead from the lounge to the large and airy conservatory where a 6 seater dining table allows you to take your meals with panoramic views across the valley. Whatever the weather this a wonderful place to relax in, with a 36 inch flat screen satellite TV and a pellet burner for winter months. There is also a separate WC with hand basin. An equally large outside terrace provides table and chairs for al fresco meals, as well as sun loungers, BBQ and personal access to the private grounds of QBV. The Pacific. What was formerly the farm kitchen annexed to the feed shed and storage barn, the Pacific has been rebuilt with the original bread oven being the pivot around which the renovation was planned. It now boasts a full custom kitchen, with dishwasher and oversized fridge/ freezer , microwave, coffeemaker and kettle. The oven and 3 ring gas hob have been sympathetically placed with the original wood fired bread oven. A full complement of pots, pans and utensils allows you to go to the fish counter at the nearby supermarket with the knowledge that you can deal with anything you buy (you can even pop out the door and snip some fresh Bay leaves). With double glazing throughout, the open plan design runs into the lounge/dining area, with an automated full flame pellet burner and 42 inch flat screen satellite TV. Double doors open onto your large private terrace with dining table, sun loungers, BBQ and access to the private grounds of QBV. Adriatic is the only apt that does not contain an oven. A bathroom containing a corner shower cubicle, sink and WC completes the facilities of this popular apt The Caribbean. In its’ previous life, this apt was home to various animals as well as the (outside and only) WC. An interesting double bed design leads into the well equipped kitchen area with oven, 2 ring gas hob, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker and kettle. A full complement of pots, pans and utensils means that you do not have to rely on frozen ready-made meals (feel free to raid the very productive orange, apple, pear, plum and fig trees, as well as the herbs dotted throughout the gardens). A few steps down from the kitchen is the lounge/dining area with 36 inch flat screen satellite TV. Sliding patio doors open onto your private deck with BBQ, sun loungers, table and chairs, all looking out over the tranquil valley of QBV and surrounding countryside. This was formally the Adega where the wine was made, and the original wine-press screw has been moved a few feet and is now a structural support for the main ceiling beam. Sliding patio doors lead into the lounge/dining area with pellet burner heating for winter months, a 36 inch flat screen satellite TV and a large floor to ceiling window to take advantage of the panoramic views. A couple of steps take you up to the breakfast bar which fronts the custom fully fitted kitchen. With the exposed original stone wall as a backdrop, the oven, 4 ring gas hob, integrated fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and kettle, plus full complement of pots, pans and utensils allows you to be culinary creative with the wine as well as drink it. The open plan sleeping area has a queen sized bed situated so that you can choose between the TV or the picture window looking out over the garden and far valley. The bathroom has a custom open glass-panelled shower, vanity sink unit and WC, and features a continuation of the exposed original stone wall which graces the kitchen.
