Yering Gorge Cottages provides an idyllic setting within an hour of Melbourne - perfect for nature lovers and those wanting to escape. 13 self-contained, beautifully appointed, cottages nestled into the hillside of our private nature reserve offer stunning views of the Christmas Hills and Great Dividing Range. Guests can relax on their private balcony, watching the resident kangaroos in their natural habitat whilst enjoying a glass of Yarra Valley wine; find a cockatoo landing as they start-up the barbeque or have a wombat join them on their morning walk along the river as they explore our bushwalking trails. All cottages include a separate living area with floor to ceiling windows providing a stunning outlook of the surrounding Nature Reserve and wood heater; fully equipped kitchenette; large private deck with barbeque and separate bathroom with a corner bath. Our four bedroom cottage features a full sized kitchen and separate recreation room – ideal for families and larger groups travelling together. A suite of outdoor experiences and recreational activities are available to complement your stay including golf, tennis, bushwalking and mountain biking - all undertaken within the Club’s 120 acre Nature Reserve, home to Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Deer, Platypus, Echidna, Wombats and 80+ species of native bird life, providing guests with the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife. Guests of Yering Gorge Cottages have priority access to the private member, Eastern Golf Club, designed by Greg Norman, and positioned in the stunning setting of the Yering Gorge, where bushland intersects with the Yarra River against the backdrop of the Christmas Hills and Dividing Ranges.
