Our first impression when we arrived at the apartment building was not very positive. It was in a very unattractive neighbourhood. Was this where we were to stay? We rang the bell and the gate opened. We went into the building (reception area annexe breakfast room) but no-one was there. After a while the owner Silvia came down the stairs. The welcome was a bit cool, too. She only speaks Italian which doens't facilitate the communication. Our room was large with a 'clean' look. 'Clean' in the sense of not cosy. Not one piece of decoration except for a small vase with artificial flowers. The bed was large, though and the mattress and pillows were good. There was enough closet space. The bathroom was very narrow and the shower stall was really very, very small. Furthermore there was a dangerous step between the bathroom and the bedroom. The reception/breakfast area was more of a hallway to get from outside to the rooms upstairs. It was a sweet breakfast served at the table. Silvia also made us a big bowl of sliced fruit. Yummie! And a freshly made cappuccino. All in all good value for the money and a good base to visit Agrigento and the Scala dei Turchi but I wouldn't stay there again. There is no possibility of ordering a drink during the day because there's no-one there during the day.
