Club Koggala Village

Hotel Club Koggala Village, das Einfachste der Hotels der TISARA Hotel Group, ist sehr schön gelegen, weder schlecht noch gut. Es bedarf allerdings der dringenden, umfassenden Renovierung. Es gab viele Russen im Hotel, von denen sich jedoch die Meisten gut und höflich benahmen. Das Hotel war besser als erwartet/The simplest hotel of the Tisara Hotel Group is beautifully located, neither good nor bad, but in need of a thorough renovation. There were many Russians in the hotel, most of which, however, behaved well, and were courteous and friendly. The hotel was better than I expected.

Gross, geräumig, etwas antiquiert, aber hübsch und zweckmässig ausgestattet, stark renovierungsbedürftig. Die Zimmer haben - anders, als in manchen Reiseverstalterkatalogen erwähnt - KEINEN Zimmer-Safe. Wertgegenstände müssen umständlich im kostenlosen Zentralsafe hinter der Rezeption eingelagert und entnommen werden. N U R die Bungalowzimmer haben Meerblick. Die gegen Aufpreis angebotenen "Meerblickzimmer" im Haupthaus bieten KEINEN Meerblick, sondern schauen auf den lauten Pool-Innenhof und die Dächer der voran gebauten Bungalows. Diese Mehrkosten kann man sich getrost sparen. Die geschönten Photos von Reiseveranstaltern, die diesen Umstand verschleiern, betrachte ich als bewusste Irreführung des Kunden mit betrügerischer Mehrgewinn-Absicht. Vergleichen Sie Photos der diversen Reise- veranstalter im Internet, die dieses Hotel im Programm haben, und fragen Sie Ihr Reisebüro, um später Ärger vor Ort zu vermeiden! Auf dem hygienischen Betonbett mit harter Kokosfasermatratze habe ich hervorragend geschlafen, wozu auch das Meeresrauschen beigetragen hat. Es sollte allerdings ein ordentliches, helles Leselicht am Bett vorhanden sein/Other than mentioned in some tour organisers' catalogues, there are no room safes. Valuables must inconveniently, be stacked and reclaimed at/from the central safe behind the reception. O N L Y the bungalow rooms have ocean view. The "ocean view rooms" in the main building at additional costs (located in front of the bungalows), look on the roofs of which, and face the loud swimming pool courtyard with the loud pool bar music. You'd better save these extra costs, or indeed, book a room with ocean view room in the bungalows. In order to avoid trouble on site, you'd best compare the pictures of various tour-organisers in the internet, before booking, and ask your travel agent! I wonderfully slept with the sound of the ocean waves, on the concrete bed with coconut fibre mattress. There should be a sufficiently-bright r e a d i n g l i g h t at the bed.

Enttäuschend, schlecht bis mittelmässig. Oft waren die Speisen kalt, fad, verkocht vertrocknet oder angebrannt (Fisch); das Fleisch war zäh, bestand aus Fett und Knorpeln und war nicht entbeint; der Fisch hatte Gräten und war oft ungeniessbar scharf gewürzt. Das Fruehstücks-buffet war langweilig, und es hab keine Ananas oder keinen Yoghurt zum Müesli. Wenigstens gab es stets frische Stoffservietten/The food was bad to mediocre. The tough meat mostly consisted of bones, fat, and cartilages, and the fish was often burnt and dry, extremely hot-spiced and hence, unpalatable. The breakfast buffet was humble and lacked pineapple and yoghurt to go together with the cerials. At least, there were fabric napkins.

Nur die room boys arbeiten wirklich gut und motiviert; es gab taeglich frische Handtuecher und Bettwaesche, und das Bett wurde hübsch mit Blumen dekoriert. Das Restaurantpersonal hingegen arbeitete unglaublich langsam, desinteressiert und hochgradig unmotiviert. Das Restaurant öffnete stets 5-10 Min. zu spät. Alles Personal bis auf das der Rezeption hatte unfassbar schlechte Englischkenntnisse. Beschwerden wurden höflich entgegengenommen und wenn möglich, bearbeitet/Only the room boys really worked well and motivated. Bed linens and towels were daily changed, and the bed was nicely decorated with flowers. The restaurant staff made a rather lazy, bored, ignorant, and unmotivated impression on me. The restaurant always opened 5-10 min. too late. The whole staff, except the receptionists, had an incredibly-poor command of English; complaints were dealt with in a positive way, and things improved if possible.

Am einmalig schönen Strand an der Südwestküste sri Lanka's an der nicht immer leisen Matara Road in der Nähe des pittoresken VOC Kolonialstädchens Galle gelegen. Anfahrt und Abfahrt wurden von Diethelm Travel, dem lokalen Gästebetreuungsunternehmen von Schauinsland Reisen, vorgenommen, das auch hervorragende Arbeit im Beschwerden-Management und bei der Zimmervergabe leistete. Der Flughafen shuttle im PKW bzw. Kleinbus über die Autobahn dauerte ca. 2 Stunden pro Strecke/Hotel Club Koggala Village is located at one of the most beautiful beaches of southwest Sri Lanka, at the often noisy Matara Road near Galle, the pittoresque 17th century VOC colonial town. The airport shuttle to and from the hotel which took circa 2 hours each way, was provided by Diethelm travel, the local guest care company by Schauinsland Reisen, which gave excellent service - as usual-, also in the complaints management and the room allocation.

Gelegentliche Folklore. Schöner, grosser, sauberer Pool, ausreichend tief und für sportliches Schwimmen geeignet, aber leider fast 14 Stunden lang akkustische Zumüllung durch laute "Bumm-Bumm"-Discomusik/ Occasional folkloristic presentations. Nice, big, clean pool with sufficiently-deep water for sportive swimming. Unfortunately, 14 hours the day long "accoustic trash" by loud boom-boom disco music, a quite annoying affair.
