Das Hotel ist schön gestaltet und das Personal sehr kompetent und freundlich. Es ist für Gehbinderte allerdings nicht sehr geeignet
Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet. Durch die ruhige Lage konnte man gut schlafen. Aber nur bei Ankunft erhielt man 2 Flaschen Wasser kostenlos. Das kennen wir von anderen Hotels nicht. Üblich bei diesem Standard ist das ständige kostenlose Angebot von Trinkwasser. Für die Nespressomaschine gab es pro Person und Tag 1 Kapsel. In anderen Hotels steht immer ein Korb mit unterschiedlichen Kaffeesorten bereit. Der angepriesene Standard ist durch solche Sachen nicht stimmig.
Die Halbpension enthielt kein Gericht von der Karte und das Essen war einfach und ohne Wahlmöglichkeit. Wir hatten jeweils 2x den gleichen Nachtisch und 2x die gleiche Vorspeise in einer Woche. Das war insgesamt nicht passend. Getränke sind sehr teuer. Das wurde einem 5* Sterne Hotel gar nicht gerecht.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sehr sauber. Allerdings wurde uns eine Wohneinheit zugeteilt, die wir nicht gebucht hatten. Das Angebot zum Wechseln erfolgte 2 Tage vor Abreise.
Das Hotel liegt nahe am Flughafen aber dennoch etwas abseits. Das war aber bei Buchung bekannt. Ohne Auto oder Taxi ist das Fortkommen nicht möglich.

Die Freizeit angebote waren auf das Fitnessstudio beschränkt. Der Ausgleich war allerdings der eigene Pool am Zimmer.

Dear Kirsten, we were really surprised to have read your review since you are the first guests ever who do not recommend our hotel. We do understand that sometimes one may not read well all info of a property, location or a room however, in these cases the hotel should not be the one to blame. During your stay you have contacted your travel agent and complaint about their recommendation to book with us. We are in no position of knowing what was promised to you however, the location is always clear on all description and it is perfect for people who would like to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Fira, but at the same time we are only 5 min driving distance to Fira Town. In addition our resort is strategically located by the sea in the middle of the island in order to be very convenient to reach Oia and all other well known destination of Santorini within a very reasonable time! In most well known 5 star hotels around the world coffee capsules as well as bottle of water are not complimentary. We however, offer free bottles of water upon arrival as well coffee capsules daily. Also 2 more coffees of your absolute preference (I.e. cappuccino, espresso, greek, etc) are offered to all of our guests free of charge in a daily basis during the breakfast time plus a fresh squeezed orange juice. Therefore 3 free coffees per day satisfied the vast majority of our guests. Half board options include 3 course set menu. We can always make adjustments to meet our guests needs however, we will require notice while you are here. Our Chef and his team always do the necessary adjustments to please our guests the most. Although, acting with great care to all of our guests in Desiterra, we have tried on several occasions to contact you so as to address any issues, you refused at all times. You never gave us the option to hear you and react during your staying. Lastly, we are one of the biggest properties in Santorini with 30acres by the sea and right next to Fira with the and biggest gardens area inside the hotel. We are the perfect location for walkers since apart from walking to the near beaches you can also walk in and around the property enjoying the unique nature Desiterra and of Santorini, the close vineyards by feet (or by horses). Judging by your comments we understand that you were looking something more mass tourism and certainly not Santorini island! We are very proud for what we offer to all of our guests in Desiterra Santorini and we are more than happy that the vast majority of them highly evaluate and appreciate it, something which is reflected to their perfect score evaluations 6/6 in holiday check since the opening of Desiterra.
