Einfach wegbleiben!

    Kommentar des Hoteliers

I read My Guest's review with sorrow. I helped myself with an automatic translator as I do not speak German, although I perfectly understand the tone and content. This is a small farmhouse with apartments; being an old Tuscan estate with a prominent historical value, we restored it respecting its ancient style and spirit. Obviously, some problems can occur, but some other "defects" make these walls full of charm. Hospitality is integral part of my job, and the effort is to "follow" my guests during their stay at The Moricci helping them to feel at home and far from domestic issues and daily deals; as both a manager and a host, I consider listening to their probems and accommodating their needs a priority , and my effort is to do it as best as I can by being present without being intrusive. The criticism of My Guest hurts me because it is mean and unfair. I am constantly present at the farmhouse, that is, every day and almost every night, and each time My Guest asked me for anything, I tried to resolve as fast and effectively as possible. Unfortunately, this is extremely hard to do when your guest does not communicate anything personally and rather seems to make every effort to create awful and embarassing situations. In particular, My Guest writes about problems with the elctrical system. I must point out that the electrician came less than 3 hours after the tour operator called me signalling the problem (I was at the farm actually, but My Guest preferred to write to the tour operator rather than talking directly to me); moreover, a second electrician came after further 48 hours. The problem was solved for the next 3 days, but when it occurred again My Guest chose antoher time to write to the tour operator instead of telling me, despite me being at the farmhouse also on that occasion: I would resolve it in a moment turning a switch off and calling the electrician the day after, as it was evening. 12 hours after the new report the electrician came, and we eventually discovered that the problem was caused by a cable of personal computer of th my Guest. Furthermore, after their leave I found a broken plug adapter in their apartment, which had been repaired with tape and glue, and the cover of an electrical box had been tampered with too. As for the cleaning service, a professional laundry washes bed linens and towels: we check they are in good condition before using them again, and none of my guests have ever complained. However, if my Guest told me they were unsatisfied with the cleaning, I would have their apartment cleaned anew. Actually, I offered them to clean their apartment without any fee as they would stay 3 weeks, but every time they answered this was not necessary. Again, when they asked me to vacuum and wash the floor, we did it as soon as possible; maybe, I provided new linen more than 24 hours after they asked me, and in this case I do beg pardon for the late. The farmhouse dates to the 19th century, and humidity problems are unavoidable in an historical estate: as a consequence, I perfectly know that at times I must paint the wall in some places during the working season. For this reason, we kindly ask our guests to remember that arrival time is from 4 p.m. onwards. The Family arrived at about 2 p.m., when I was still finishing to tidy their apartment up. They asked me to just leave the luggage before going the supermarket, which I consented thinking I could finish to paint the wall, but they occupied the flat and never went to the supermarket. I am deeply displeased about this situation. The last 18 days have been extremely hard for me, because it is difficult to work properly, to be efficient, and to make guests satisfied when there is no will to communicate. Even though my English is not perfect, it is certainly better than 9 years ago, and in my job I have learnt that there is more than a way to understand each other without speaking the same language: by the way, it is necessary that both parts want it. In 13 years giving hospitality, this is the first time I happen to come across people so committed to ruin their own holiday time!
