Mandalay Hill Resort

This is a huge hotel so it has the usual lack of atmosphere of a smaller more intimate place. But the rooms are great. First time at the back we looked over the garden, pool etc and the hill, Pagoda-lit at night. From the front side over the street one can actually see into the old palace. Unfortunately nothing is left, all burned in the second world war, but a park. The breakfast buffet outdoors near the pool was very nice. Indoors dining a bit too cold. You have to get into a taxi to get to a restaurant so one tends to stay in for meals, something I would rather not do, but you're trapped.
