This was absolutely the best hotel on our whole Norway-trip! AWESOME! It is so beautifully decorated... these people have an eye for the details! Wonderful food also, excellent breakfast (everybody comes to breakfast at the same time and they cook it absolutely fresh - superb omelettes) and while you're eating stories are being told. But it's in Norsk so you should understand the language. But we had a nice lady sitting next to us who translated to my wife. The rooms are in farmers style and again beautifully decorated. You really feel like home here. Food in the evening is very good and the restaurant area was specially lit in the evening. Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Lyngdal itself is ok but if you're looking for a relaxing stay - I guarantee you'll have. Also very recommendable if you just arrived in Kristiansand from the ferry and you don't want to drive that far on day one or for your way back! Stay here - it's much better than anything else we had!
