My husband and I spent the Easter weekend in your hotel and would like to give some feedback. Rather than publishing it for all to see on review websites, we'd like to send this directly to you to give you the opportunity to check, investigate or even change things. Like many guests we were very pleased with the location of your hotel. We stayed in room 201 and found it quiet (but then, there apparently were few hen or stag nights, it seems :-)). The bed was comfortable and the linen looked clean. What came to really bother us, though, was the cleanliness of the room (except the linen). We didn't mind that things are not spanking new and no cleaning staff can do anything about the odd scratch, tainted silicone or stain on the carpet. But we believe things can still be clean. For starters, during the stay we didn't have a single clean towel. They all came in various shades of grey (in the same towel) some with quite large remnants of what looked like some other lady's mascara. On the first day, we asked reception for two clean small towels as they looked the worst and found new ones when we returned to the room. Apart from the fact that they looked equally grey, they had been put on the dirty hallway floor without protection, which we found odd. Where at home would you put a clean towel on your corridor floor and then expect someone to still use it? To move on quickly, there were quite a number of things that could be done to clean / repair just this one room: a few light bulbs (in all rooms) were gone, the lamp shades were dirty and crooked, the curtain was filthy (which was my first impression, by the way, walking up to the hotel: One can see grey curtains behind every window ...). the inner curtain had come undone, the window handle was loose, the toilet seat as well. Two closet door hinges had come undone so the doors barely closed. The booklet with the hotel information was dirty, the pages and plastic covers creased. I think I can stop here. We suggest that (if you care) someone walks into the room and has a look with an open eye. In addition, during our stay the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned once (judged by the hairs on the floor always in the same location) and the room wasn't vacuumed at least on Sunday. To us it looked as though the room was slowely falling to pieces, without anyone taking care of regular maintenance. This might work for a while, but eventually people will stop coming. All we can do is point it out to you. But we believe a good hotel would have someone who checks things like that regularly and has a schedule for more thorough cleaning tasks that needn's happen daily. We wish you all the best.
