Das Hotel wurde im Januar 2017 neu eröffnet und liegt an einem belebten Platz in der Innenstadt. Zum Flughafen ca. 45 Minuten mit der Metro. Taxis sind extrem günstig, aber die Taxifahrer kennen es noch nciht - besser Adresse vom Hotel dabei haben.
Wir hatten das Zimmer 744 in der 7. Etage mit Blick in die Nebenstraße und ganz links zur Akropolis. Zwei kleine Fenster waren zu öffnen. Aber wenn man vorne zum Platz das Zimmer hat, kann es recht laut sein. Die Ausstattung ist angemessen. Allerdings empfand ich die Regendusche als ungüstig, da es keine "normale" Brause gibt, die ein Duschen ohne nasse Haare ermöglicht.
Wir haben Frühstück gehabt und ein schönes Buffett genossen. Allerdings wurde der Kaffee nur Tassenweise nachgeschenkt und man musste teilweise recht lange warten. Ansonsten gibt es alles was das Herz begehrt. Das Abendessen wird im Panoramarestaurant in der 9. Etage genossen und die Küche ist fantastisch gewesen.
Das Hotel befindet sich etwa 15 Gehminuten vom Parliament entfernt. Die Umgebung ist laut Aussage eines einheimischen Freundes nicht so gut, denn es gibt mehrere Bordelle um die Ecke. Bis zur Akropolis läuft man ca. 45min. Teure Einkaufsstraßen sowie billige Chinaimport-Läden in der Nähe.

Warum wir im März dieses Hotel gebucht haben, erfolgte auf Grund des Innenpools. Leider ist dieser nur im Sommer von 11-18Uhr geöffnet, aber dafür mit Blick zur Akropolis und im 9. Stock beim Restaurant.

Dear Mrs. Christina, Thank you for sharing the experience from your recent stay with us at Wyndham Grand Athens. As you have mentioned our hotel has a very strategic location just a few steps from “Metaxourgeio” metro station. The area of Metaxourgeio is one of the old neighborhoods of Athens that during the last years has been reconstructed and evolved into one of the most developing districts of Athens with excellent bars, awarded restaurants, one of them being Funky Gourmet which is one of the best restaurants in Athens awarded with 2 Michelin stars and several theaters such as the National Theatre. We are glad you enjoyed your breakfast but we are sorry to read about your experience with the coffee. We strive to achieve the best levels of service, and we truly regret that we felt short of our goals. Our apologies for our Rooftop pool closure. Being an outdoor pool we are not able to keep it open all year round as our guests will not be able to enjoy it during the cold months.
