Into the green, far away from the noise and bustle. Zortea is a typical Alpine village. With only 150 residents, it's right at the serene heart of Nature where cows, horses and deer graze in the grass on the fields and forests of the Dolomites. Situated at 1027m (3368ft) the village has a superb view over the Valle del Lozen from the top right down where it meets the Vanoi valley. Together the two valleys form the municipality of Canal San Bovo, famous for its forests and fields that extend as far as the eye can see. For such renowned scenery it was awarded the title of "green heart of Trentino". Thanks to the altitude of Albergo Serenella, walking trails that lead from the village to the mountains are just a couple of steps from our door: a perfect place to start your excursions. Not far from Zortea, it is easy to arrive at the birthplace of the Valle del Lozen: Calaita Lake, an enchanting Alpine lake blessed with the fabulous panorama of Pale di San Martino, a view so special that it has been granted Unesco World Heritage status. By car, some minutes from the albergo, drive out to the valley through Passo Gobbera to visit Fiera di Primiero, a picturesque village in the middle of Valle di Primiero. Continuing in that direction, you can soon reach San Martino di Castrozza, situated at the bottom of the Pale with the same name. On the other side of the Valle del Vanoi, along the river Vanoi, you will find the mountains of the Lagoon's ridge. Now you only have to discover the unique atmosphere of Zortea and its people. Food is lovingly prepared by the family chefs and, in addition to an Italian menu, we offer international dishes as well as typical traditional food from the valley and the Trentino region. The terrace, looking out to Monte Totoga, is the perfect place to relax in the summer sunshine, surrounded by green fields with the scent of flowers and wild mushrooms blowing in the breeze that comes down from the mountain.
