Hotel Fischerwirt Natur.WaldSPA

We were tired after a very busy summer and needed a few days rest in a place where we knew we would be welcome, comfortabe and well looked after so the obvious place to go was the Fischerwirt an hotel we had visited many times before but not for several years. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and sincerely by Rudi and Marietta and indeed the whole 'Fischerwirt team' and made to feel like long lost family members rather than paying guests. The Fischerwirt has changed quite a bit since we last stayed there it is bigger, more modern and has been decorated inside and out, everything is very professional but it never loses that personal feeling. We stayed in a Sonnenblume suite which was spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy and ideal for our needs. The meals were as always great; the selection, quality and quantity of food at breakfast was such that I could have eaten my fill several times over and not eaten again that day which would have been a tradgedy because the four course dinner was not to missed. Each dinner course was imaginative, tasty and well presented and was served with a choice of good quality wines ( not included in the half pension price). After dinner retiring to the bar for a quality schnaps from the extensive selection finished the evening nicely. The Fischerwirt is situated in the quiet countryside at Vordersee just a short drive from the small village of Faistenau and about 500 mtr from the shores of Hintersee and the Fischerwirt's own bathing beach, while a 30 minute drive will see you in the centre of Salzburg. The Fischerwirt is ideal just about everyone whether you want an enegetic walking or skiing holiday, a break soaking up the culture of Salzburg and the surrounding area or just a quiet time relaxing after a busy summer like my wife and I.
