Hotel King

Lying on the border of Estonia to neighbouring Russia, this centrally located hotel does not offer what it advertises online. It is certainly not a “boutique” hotel, rather a better youth hostel. The rooms are situated along a noisy corridor and the equipment is very basic. It has a good, but tiny bathroom though. I liked the restaurant which makes one feel sitting in a medieval tavern. Food is Russian and Estonian cuisine. The building itself stands out of the neighbouring Soviet concrete blocks and is an attraction for Chinese tourists frequently stopping and taking a photo. Staff hardly speak English, basic Russian required for obtaining keys to the room.
