Itaparica is a city located on the island of the same name, in the State of Bahia, in Brazil. The city is famous as a place ideal for rest, because of its beautiful beaches, such as praia da Ponta de Areia, praia da Ponta do Mocambo, praia do Boulevard or praia do Forte. Itaparica is also known as a spa city. Mineral waters can be enjoyed while they flow out of the famous da Bica Fountain (fonte da Bica). Its source is located within the city, more specifically - on its western coast. At the front of the fountain there is an inscription: "Êh ! água fina. Faz velha virá menina".
