My Thuan Bridge connects two banks of the Mekong River, in the place where it flows through the city of Vinh Long. Interestingly, the bridge was built thanks to the cooperation of the government of Vietnam with the Government of Australia, for whom this was the largest overseas project. The bridge has a length of more than one and a half kilometers and a width of almost 24 meters. It is a cable-stayed bridge, or a suspended bridge, as it is often described. The bridge was opened to traffic in 2000.
