Infos Schwebefähre Rochefort

Ein eindrucksvolles Kunstwerk in luftiger Höhe: Die seit 1976 als „Monument historique“ geltende Schwebefähre von Rochefort ist die letzte ihrer Art in Frankreich und wurde im Jahr 1900 vom französischen Ingenieur Ferdinand Arnodin erbaut. Die 176 Meter lange, unter Denkmalschutz stehende, Eisenkonstruktion überspannt den Fluss Charente in mehr als 50 Meter Höhe und kann auch heute noch von Radfahrern und Fußgängern benutzt werden.
