Hersonissos Village Hotel & Bungalows

I would like to take this chance and thank you for choosing Hersonissos Village as your holiday hotel for this summer as well as taking the time and posting a review on the internet. I would like to start by apologising on behalf of the reception team, as unfriendly behaviour does not go with the atmosphere we try to pass to the guests, and hope it did not disturb your holidays. Further more I have to explain some things you mention in your review. You describe the food as being unbearable, oily, greasy and tasteless, even though everybody has his own preference in food, here in Hersonissos Village food is prepared to be traditional and for that we have in our team a specialised Cretan Chef. Cretan food in general uses oil as its basic ingredient as French use butter. During a 14 day period we rotate all our dishes and offer a selection of 12 warm dishes, 12 salads, soup, and grill show cooking, and is very hard to believe that non of all the above dishes was at least bearable. You describe as a negative effect the location of the hotel, which I can understand that the hill up might be demanding, although it is clearly mentioned in any hotel description, as are the distances from any point of interest, additionally the hotel is not located 1 hour away from the centre but rather a 15 minute walk. Extending the point of the location of the hotel, as it is build on the top of a small hill the hotel enjoys the best view of Hersonissos bay that you can find in the area, something that most guests find a remedy for the walk up. From what you mention in the end of your review, Hersonissos region is not what you prefer to visit when going abroad, maybe a better market research would help you choose a location better suited to your preferences. Even though it does not seem likely, the Hersonissos Village team will be looking forward to your return.
